Undergraduate Advising

Advisors are willing to give advice on course load, electives (where appropriate), transfer classes from other colleges and universities as well as general advising information. HLKN students are not required to attend an advising session, however students are encouraged to meet with their advisor each semester to make sure they are progressing adequately toward their degree. Students should read emails from their advisors, to be informed of any changes or important information.
While the advising staff strives to see each student who needs an appointment, there are busy times of the year (add/drop period, Q-drop deadline, pre-registration, etc.), and students should plan accordingly. There are three potential methods of communicating with your advisor: email, phone or appointment. Walk-in advising is available on a limited basis.
To make the most of your advising appointment, come prepared. Keep up with your degree plan, bring a prepared schedule, meet during off-peak times. Also make sure you have all requested forms, which are available at the myCEHD website. For more about the department as a whole, please review our welcome packet.
