Dr. Singer (Ph.D., The Ohio State University) is an Associate Professor of Sport Management at Texas A&M University. His research interests primarily focus on a) intersections between race, sport, and education, and b) diversity and social justice matters in sporting institutions and organizations. He is currently working on a book project with Harvard Education Press that focuses on the education of Black male college athletes. In 2009, Professor Singer received the College of Education and Human Development Montague Scholar-Center for Teaching Excellence Award at Texas A&M.
His sport industry experience includes brief stints in football operations with the Jacksonville Jaguars and in marketing with the PGA Tour. In his spare time, Dr. Singer officiates basketball at both the interscholastic and intercollegiate levels.
