Welcome to the Department of Health & Kinesiology
The Department of Health and Kinesiology is one of four departments in the College of Education & Human Development at Texas A&M University. Departmental undergraduate and graduate programs include applied exercise physiology, basic exercise physiology, community health, motor behavior, safety education, school health, sport management, and sports pedagogy. Degrees offered in the Department include the B.S., M.Ed., M.S., Ed.D., and Ph.D.
Currently there are approximately 1,800 undergraduate majors and 150 graduate students. There are about 90 faculty and 70 graduate assistants in the Department. Our departmental courses generate about 125,000 student credit hours each year, which ranks us 2nd in the University.
There are four major divisions, Health Education, Kinesiology, Sport Management, and the Physical Education Activity Program (PEAP). The Divisions of Health Education, Kinesiology and Sport Management house our undergraduate majors programs and graduate programs, and the PEAP offers health and fitness including activity classes that service all Texas A&M students as part of the university core curriculum.
