Dr. Gregg Bennett, an Assistant Professor, served as the Director of the Center for Sport Management Research and Education at Texas A&M University from 2008 to 2017. He received his Ed.D. (Health and Human Performance, Education) from Auburn University in 1997. Dr. Bennett teaches courses in sport marketing and event management. Dr. Bennett’s research interest focus is on sport marketing, with a specific focus on effective sporting event marketing practices.
Dr. Bennett was named a Research Fellow by the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) in 2010. In 2012, he was named to the Inaugural class of Research Fellows by the Sport Marketing Association making him one of only four scholars at the time to hold both distinctions. He has served on the editorial boards for Sport Marketing Quarterly and the International Journal of Sport Management. In 2002, Dr. Bennett founded the Sport Marketing Association and became the first elected President of the organization in 2011.
