Funding
Approximately $460,000 is allocated to graduate assistantships
and another $78,500 in awards and fellowships. Priority consideration
is given to applicants with excellent academic preparation and
research and/ or teaching experience. Application should be made
concurrently with the admissions application. Early application
is encouraged to ensure full consideration for all funding opportunities.
Graduate Assistantships
Graduate assistantships are offered to qualified applicants on availability of
teaching or research positions. They are 9-month appointments (Sept-May) renewable
for 3 months during the summer (June-Aug). Stipends are competitive, health insurance
benefits are included, and out-of-state tuition is waived. In-state tuition scholarships
may be available to new doctoral students. Fellowship awards may be available to
students with exceptional admissions credentials. Application should be made
concurrently with the admissions application.
Graduate Assistantship Application
Merit Fellowship
Awarded to a first-time COE Graduate Student pursing doctoral studies. A first
time COE Master’s applicant may be nominated if he/ she have stated their
intent to purse doctoral studies in the nominating department.
20,000/year + $5,000 for tuition and fees; 1year fellowship
Applicants should have a completed application in by January 31st.
Decisions are made by Office of Graduate Studies Review Committee.
Regents Fellowship
Awarded to a first-time COE Graduate Student pursing doctoral studies. A first
time COE Master’s applicant may be nominated if he/ she have stated their
intent to purse doctoral studies in the nominating department.
Up to 20,000/year for 1 year only
Applicants should have a completed application in by March 1st.
Decisions are made by departmental committee.
