The Doctoral Core

Doctoral students are required to complete a specific set of courses-the Doctoral Core-in order to be advanced to candidacy for the degree. Course work for all Health Education graduate work is divided into two groups of courses: Level I and Level II courses. Level I courses are designed for Master's Degree seeking students. Doctoral students may take Level I courses if they have not completed a similar course in previous graduate studies or if a refresher course is needed. Level II courses are designed for doctoral students and form the Doctoral Core. These courses are sequenced to allow students to complete all courses in two academic years. Appendix C provides brief course descriptions for Level I and Level II courses.
