Welcome to the Health & Kinesiology Faculty and Staff Pages.

On the following pages you will be introduced to the truly outstanding faculty and staff of the Department of Health and Kinesiology.  HLKN faculty members have expertise in exercise physiology, health education, motor behavior, physical education pedagogy and sport management.  Our faculty members have research grants from such agencies as the National Institutes of Health; Centers for Disease Control; National Aeronautics and Space Administration; and the National Space Biomedical Research Institute.

In addition, HLKN faculty members are leaders in their respective fields.  For example, Dr. Danny Ballard, Professor of Health Education, has recently been elected as President-elect of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance; Dr. Carl Gabbard, Professor of Motor Behavior, recently served as President of the National Association for Sport and Physical Education; Dr. Charles Shea, Professor of Motor Behavior, has just concluded his term as President of the North American Society for the Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity; Dr. James Eddy, Professor of Health Education, was selected as the 2006 Scholar for the American Association for Health Education; Dr. Buzz Pruitt, Professor of Health Education, recently has been selected as the 2007 Scholar for AAHE, Dr. Ron McBride, Professor of Pedagoy, was elected as President-elect 2005 of Research Consortium of AAHPERD; and Ms. Molly Snell, Clinical Associate Professor of Dance, was just elected Vice-President of the National Dance Association.
