Camp Aggieland is a one week day camp sponsored by the Child Movement Center a division of the Department of Health and Kinesiology for children ages 6-12 years old. The goal of the camp is to provide the children enrolled with educational experiences in all three developmental domains and to introduce them to Texas A&M University.
Children participate in a variety of physical activities designed to develop motor skills and enhance self-understanding. Field trips are arranged to introduce the children to Texas A&M University and educational opportunities in the community. Creative activities like dance, arts and crafts, writing, and drama are an integral part of the day. Children will participate in swimming instruction and free swimming at Adamson Lagoon during the week.
Camp Adventure is a two week day camp sponsored by the Outdoor Education Institute, a division of the Health and Kinesiology Department, in cooperation with the Office of Continuing Education. Camp Adventure is for boys and girls ages 8-12. Campers are divided into tribes by age and gender. We have planned an exciting and fun program for your child which includes outdoor adventure experiences and a few sports skills. The counselor-camper ratio will be approximately 1:5. Each group of 10 campers will be assigned a counselor who will be with that group all day. Each activity will have an instructor specifically trained in that activity and the group's counselor will assist. The counselors and activity instructors are college students and /or teachers who enjoy working with young people.
The facilities will include Texas A&M's gymnasiums, ropes course, airport lake and other outdoor campus areas. Camp Adventure is an exciting learning experience you will not want your child to miss. We look forward to a good camp experience for your child. If you have any questions please feel free to call.
