The Read Building, named for Tom and Joan Read, is located on Houston Street across the
street from the Central Parking Garage. This building is built into the east side of the stands of historic Kyle Field. It is a four story structure with over 90,000 square feet of space.
The bottom floor is home to the HLKN Administrative Offices, the undergraduate Student Advising office, faculty offices, classrooms, research labs, a computer lab, racquetball courts, and weight rooms. The second floor has a number of more faculty offices and classrooms, research and teaching labs, and dance studios. The third and fourth floors contain gymnasium space for physical education major classes and the Physical Education Activity Program courses. A new student lounge/study area has been developed in the main entry area to the racquetball courts.
