Change of Major to Health and Kinesiology
Students who wish to change their major to a degree program in Health and Kinesiology (health, kinesiology or sport management) must follow the change of major process listed below for the respective major. Beginning August 2009 there have been several changes to the change of major requirements and process. Please read carefully. If you have any questions, you can contact the advisor for the specific major/option.
Effective August 2009: Students who request a change of curriculum into Health or Kinesiology must meet the following requirements in addition to attending a change of major meeting:
Change of Curriculum to Health must have a minimum overall GPR of 2.5, 12 graded hours at Texas A&M, and no more than 60 total completed hours (A&M and transfer hours).
Health Change of Major Process:

Students must submit a Change of Major Application.
(Click here to access the application.) For summer 2009 change of majors the deadline to submit an application is July 24, 2009; for fall 2009 change of majors the deadline is October 1, 2009; the spring 2010 deadline is March 1, 2010.

Prospective Health Students must meet change of major requirements at time of application.

Students who meet criteria will be notified of Change of Major meeting(s) that will be conducted approximately a week after the deadline. The summer change of major meeting will be in August 2009.

Students will be required to change their major the same semester as the change of major meeting or reapply to change their major.

Beginning August 2009 students who change their major to health must switch to Catalog 132.

Change of Curriculum to Kinesiology must have a minimum overall GPR of 2.5, 12 graded hours at Texas A&M, and no more than 75 total completed hours (A&M and transfer hours).
Kinesiology Change of Major Process:
- Students who wish to change their major to a degree program in Kinesiology must first attend a change of major before meeting with an advisor. These meetings are held multiple times during the semester. At this meeting students are given information in general about the major as well as specific information about how their coursework applies to the degree. Students must RSVP to attend the Change of Major meeting at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting.
- Once a student has attended a change of major meeting and if they meet the minimum requirements for changing into kinesiology, they can make an appointment with an advisor no sooner than 24 hours after the change of major meeting to complete the change of major (as long as it is within the acceptable change of curriculum period). Students must change their major in the same semester they attend the change of major meeting or must attend another change of major meeting.
- Beginning August 2009 students who change their major to kinesiology must switch to Catalog 200931.

Change of Curriculum to Sport Management must have a minimum overall GPR of 2.0 and 12 graded hours at Texas A&M. Students are accepted by application once a semester. See information about the application process below.
Sport Management Change of Major Process:
Students who change curriculum to sport management beginning August 2009 must switch to Catalog 132.
